Community members step into the boots of local firefighters
Chief Tom Larson of the Chippewa Falls Fire Department says, "It's very realistic, they're wearing the same equipment that we are, and they're carrying the same heavy equipment. Every year, beginning in April, the Chippewa Falls Fire Department hosts a Citizens Fire Academy. The Chippewa Falls Citizens Fire Academy gives community members a chance to experience first hand what it's like to be a firefighter. Chippewa Falls (WQOW) - Community members get the chance to step into the boots of local firefighters. It gives them an opportunity to understand the workings of the department" says Chief Larson. Chief Larson says this is a good opportunity for taxpayers to see what their dollars are funding.
