The efforts of teacher Michelle Wahlberg's second-grade class, with the support of their school and community during the drive, resulted in more than 100 donated pairs of tennis shoes boxed by the students, then shipped at no expense to the school... “I feel that this project was a fun and meaningful project for the kids and was a great launching point for the future “Go Green” activities we plan to implement next school year,” teacher Michelle Wahlberg wrote to The Chronicle. During the month of May, the youngsters spearheaded a tennis shoe collection drive for the school as a “Go Green” environmental project before their summer vacation break in June.
