Forks retailer admits stocking knockoffs

In October 2009, an undercover RCMP officer purchased a purse, handbag and other brand name items, all of which were later determined to be counterfeit. A Winnipeg businesswoman has been handed a nine-month conditional sentence after admitting she stocked the shelves of her Forks Market store with knockoff designer handbags, purses and other counterfeit goods. The shipment included purses, wallets, shirts and accessories bearing the brand names Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and other design icons.
